-Tools to implement ministry with persons who are economically distressed in your community
-Biblical grounding of God’s care for persons who are economically distressed
-Demographic view of persons who are economically distressed in your community
OUR GATHERING WILL INCLUDE:
- Biblical foundation in a Bible study
- Emphasis on the Gospel-driven mandate to be in ministry with persons who are poor in our communities
- Ministry of Christ - How is Christ with us in relationships with persons who are poor?
- Prayer and worship to focus on poverty and our common response
- Presentation of an award that honors a mission effort within Illinois, assisting people with issues of poverty
- Lifting up two areas of ministry - Lessie Bates Davis Neighborhood House (United Methodist) and Catholic Urban Programs (Diocese of Belleville)
- Small table discussions
FEES:
$90 which includes lodging, breakfast, and dinner
$55 for commuters who wish to share dinner
$35 for commuters (does not include lodging or meals)
